Lighting is an essential service in all the industries. The power consumption by the industrial lighting and street lighting varies between 2 to 10 percent of the total power.
The carbon emission by tungsten filament lamp is roughly 65 gms/hr for 60 watts of lamp, whereas with the same light output and with less power consumption carbon emission of compact florescent lamp of 15 watts is 16gms/hr.
We promote development of light from gas discharge lamps which is produced by excitation of gas contained in either a tubular of elliptical outer bulb.
For laying underground cables for various end users, we adopt routes such as there will not be any cutting of trees. We have been responsive to need of society. We support plantation of new trees. For each pole pit we dig for erection of new pole, we plant one tree in the same vicinity.

| We take action on following points and note’s the stipulation as under, as regards environmental safeguards as stipulated by Ministry of Environmental and Forest.

Appropriate measures would be taken while undertaking digging activities
to avoid degradation of water supply. |

Borrow pits and other scars created during cable trench work would be
properly leveled and treated. |

Adequate provision of infrastructural facilities, i.e water supply, fuel,
sanitation, etc will be ensured for laborers during construction period in order to avoid damage to the environment. |

No excavation from dumping of the waste materials into any water body/
wetlands would be done. |

Borrow site for earth, quarry sites for road construction and site will be
identified keeping in view: |

• No excavation or dumping on private property is carried out without
written consent of the owner.. |

• No excavation or dumping will be allowed on wetland, forest areas or
other ecologically valuable or sensitive locations. |
| |
• The excavation work will be done in consultation with soil
conversation and watershed development agencies working in the
area. |

• Construction spoil including bituminous materials and other
hazardous material will not be allowed to contaminate water course
and the dump sites for such materials will be identified well in
advances before construction and lined properly so that do not leach
in to the ground water. |

The tree, which are necessary to be felled will be identified before hand and
necessary approval from the competent authority shall be obtained for felling
the same. Sufficient number of the trees of suitable species shall e planted in
lieu of the trees felled. |

A contingency plan will be prepared to combat with accident so that the
victims of accident can be provided immediate medical help. Some essential
equipment, building and other facilities will be provided for the purpose. |

The employer or competent authority may stipulate any other conditions
for environmental safeguard, subsequently, if deemed necessary, which will be compelled with. |
